The Story Behind the Screen

Four moves in nine years, and I never thought one of them would take me across an ocean. But here we are — Brisbane, Australia, for my husband's job, with our 7-year-old son along for the ride and me still pinching myself most days that we actually did it.

You won’t have to look far to find the real me, because I leave it all on my page -Lex in Wonderland. Over the past 1.5 years, I’ve taken an honest look at what it's actually like to uproot your whole life and plant it somewhere new. And I’ve chronicled most of it. The good days, the hard days, the days I'm googling how to say “how ya goin’” like an Aussie.

What keeps me going isn't the follower count. It's the community — the people who show up in my comments like old friends, who cheer for the wins and sit with me through the messy parts. That connection is the whole point.

Outside of building a life here, you'll usually find me curled up under a blanket with a cat nearby (mandatory, non-negotiable), geeking out over Australian birds in a way that surprises even me, or — my current obsession — rollerblading around the neighborhood like it's 1998 and I have something to prove.
